Three more ways to collect reviews

Whether you’re just starting out, or you’re already actively collecting and using online reviews to bolster your business, these three tips will help you to collect more valuable customer feedback.

1. Ask for reviews

Stevie Wonder isn’t just a talented music superstar – he’s also got some sage advice for business owners everywhere. His famous quip, “If you don’t ask, you don’t get,” can be applied to anything in life – and rings just as true when it comes to collecting reviews for your business.

Human contact is still king. One of the best ways to ask for a review is when you’re face to face with your consumers. But bear in mind, timing is everything. If someone has just paid and compliments your product or service, thank them, and then ask them if they’d be happy to write a review on your Hellopeter profile.

Depending on what kind of business you run, you already have several customer interaction points that are prime real estate for requesting a review.

Put yourself in your customers’ shoes – and walk through a typical interaction with your business. At which point have they gotten a good idea of what your products and services are like?

If you run a restaurant, for example, this would be once they’ve paid for their meal. If you run an e-commerce business selling clothing, they’d only be able to write a review once they’ve received their goods and have had time to use them or try them on.

Wherever your customers are on their journey with your brand, there’s an opportunity to ask for a review!

2. Make it easy by equipping yourself with the right tools

Collecting reviews manually can take up a considerable amount of time. But when you’re equipped with the right tools, you’re able to save valuable time that can be spent managing other areas of your (hopefully) thriving business.

You’re also able to collect more reviews. Yay! We know just how precious your time is, which is why we’ve created an array of smart review collection tools that speed up – and simplify – the process. The following are just some of the tools you could use:

Email collection tools – built to optimise and boost your email request for reviews response rate, these tools enable you to:

  • Insert the Hellopeter widget in your request for review emails – positioning your business as credible and trustworthy
  • Direct consumers to a review form in order to simplify the review writing process, and as a result, collect more reviews
  • Send out email requests for reviews to a bulk email list – one click, and you’re done
  • Manually send out email requests for reviews when you identify the right time to ask for a review

Downloadable widgets and QR codes – display these at key customer-interaction points, like your till point, on your shop floor, and on your invoices.

The result? More reviews!

3. Share your existing reviews

The more eyes on an online review, the more powerful it is. And, the higher the chances are of another consumer sharing their feedback online. When you receive a review, thank the writer, and then ask them to share their review with their network. This can be done straight from the Hellopeter site.

You can even add an incentive to your request: offer consumers a discount, free samples, or an upgrade to motivate them to share their reviews.

In addition, share your Hellopeter reviews on your businesses social media pages. We’ve made it super easy for you to do this, via our Review Share link.

By showing off your reviews on places other than Hellopeter, you signal to potential consumers that fellow shoppers are interacting with your business, and you’re engaging back. As a result, you position your brand as one that’s already been vetted by other people, which can boost your credibility and consumer trust - which as we know, is a big deal.

Reviews on Hellopeter have helped over one million consumers make better choices. Had an experience you’d like to tell us about? Leave us a review here.
